About Jo
Jo spent her first 20 years within the finance sector gaining experience in various sectors of the industry (Lending, Wealth Management, Money Market and Custody) before, taking a Custodian Trustee role, which sparked her interest in Compliance.
After some time at the regulator gaining practical hands on experience in various roles within the then Investment Business Division, Jo moved into consultancy. During this time Jo provided Compliance Officer and MLRO support, training and health checks to clients in the Investment (Funds, Private Equity, Wealth and Custody), Insurance (Intermediary and Captive), Fiduciary (Trust and Corporate Services) and Estate Agent sectors.
Having then spent 3 years as Head of Compliance and MLRO at a Wealth Management firm, Jo decided that consultancy was her passion and JML Compliance Solutions was born.
Jo has found that her substantial experience on the ‘coalface’ of the industry, combined with the regulatory and compliance experience, enables her to offer, pragmatic, practical, commercially minded and effective compliance solutions to her clients.
In 2012 Jo passed the ICA International Diploma in Compliance with Distinction and then progressed to the ICA Postgraduate Diploma in Governance Risk & Compliance, having achieved this Jo is now a Fellow of the ICA (FICA) and a certified Governance, Risk and Compliance Professional (Prof.PG.DIP (GRC)). In addition to the compliance specific qualifications, Jo also holds the CISI Investment Operations Certificate, CISI Risk in Financial Services certificate and the CISI Award in Risk in Financial Services. This means that Jo is also a Chartered Member of the CISI (Chartered MCSI). Jo has also successfully completed the BCS Foundation Certificate in Data Protection.
